Letter from the Principal 07/02/2020

Yesterday we learned of the death of Peter Crowe.  Peter was the father of McAuley students, Alex and Isabella

The students in both girl’s classes were told late in the day that Peter had died.  While it is important to discuss this with the children, to answer their questions and to reassure them it is OK to feel sad, it is also important to return to normal routines and not dwell on the overwhelming sadness.

Attached to this letter are some suggestions that may assist if your child wishes to speak to you about death. If you are worried about your child’s reaction or have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to contact me or our staff.  Our school counsellor, will be available should you or your child wish to speak to her.

Please pray for Peter’s family during this very sad time.  As a school family I have reassured Jo that we will do all we can to support her and the girls today and into the future.
