ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Turnbull_David.jpg

Week 7 of Term 1 has been extremely productive. It has been pleasing to see students continuing to build our school culture and spirit. The generosity of families in raising over $1700 for the people of Northern NSW impacted by floods, has been truly amazing. Although the money raised will only contribute for the repair of a small amount of damage, the care and compassion of our school community has been great to witness.

The students and staff have had many things happening. Students have performed well at our local shows in Tumut and in Adelong. Excursions in Years 5 & 6 and 9 & 10 have provided a lot of extra curricular enjoyment. Next week we will see students put their sporting prowess to the test with the Netball Schools Cup and Rugby 10s competitions. We are eagerly waiting for the return of the excursion to the Royal Easter show for Agriculture students. The meat birds have been growing rapidly under the watchful eye of Mr Ellison.

In the classroom it has been pleasing to see the teaching and learning taking place. The continued work of our dedicated staff is appreciated. We welcomed Miss Moss back to school this week in Year 2 and it has been great to have her back. We thank Mrs Ros Piper for her work in Year 2 whilst Miss Moss was away.

Secondary students will by now have some assignments that they should be working on at home. As parents and carers, it is of great benefit if we show an interest in this work and try to support our children to learn to their maximum potential. Helping our children plan their time effectively is a great life skill. We strongly encourage the students to stay up to date with their google calendar which is available via google classroom.

I hope that you are able to enjoy the beautiful autumn weather that we are receiving at the moment.

Regards,

David Turnbull
