As you are aware McAuley CCS has numerous online reading options for our students to complement already supplied physical books.
The MCCS Library has a Google Classroom page, which Ms Roche has posted the specific details of how to log into SORA, MyOn and other platforms. The Classroom code is wytnb4d
We are delighted to let you know about an educational resource that is now also available to your child at home as part of our school subscription – Story Box Library.
Your child can watch favourite stories, read aloud by fabulous storytellers, at home as well as in the classroom. Reading aloud to children, in particular by diverse and engaging storytellers, greatly improves language and literacy skills, especially in the early years of a child’s development.
To access Story Box Library at home:
1) Visit www.storyboxlibrary.com.au
2) Choose Log In from the top right corner of the screen
3) Log in using the username and password provided below
4) Enjoy the library of stories on any device with internet connection
Please note the following features:
Story Box Library regularly adds new stories, so is an ever-growing library
Includes a range of short films to inspired by our stories, creators and storytellers
Captions can be turned on or off for each story
Story Box Library is a safe online space free from advertising

FROM THE PRINCIPAL 31st MARCH
31 Mar 2020
Good afternoon McAuley Families
Please see attached correspondence from Catholic Education advising that there will be no remote lessons or student supervision available at our school next week (Week 11).
We need to allow our staff time and resources to prepare for Remote Learning in Term 2.
While we are self isolating and unable to go about our normal lives I would like to offer our students the opportunity to learn to code, using the Code Club Australia resources.
I have a classroom page with plenty of projects for students to start coding, or continue coding if they have been part of McAuley's Code Club before. The projects are aimed at kids from year 3 onward, but if you are willing to assist your child there is nothing stopping younger children from having a go. All of the project have step by step instructions, including how to sign up to the various sites such as Scratch and Trinket.
The benefit of signing up to the CodeClub Classroom is students will be able to post issues/problems they are having with their projects and I, or other class members, can help solve them. They will also be able to share successful projects and showoff their new coding skills.
The class code to join is: 3fk63rg
I hope to see many new coders joining our Code Club classroom.
