Dear McAuley Families

Please take care over the coming days as the weather forecast looks grim.  Another curve ball thrown at us!  Amazingly, we are reminded of the resilience of our boys and girls as they get along with school life in spite of the many challenges and obstacles that bob up along the way.

It’s hard work to cast off our worries and woes and just be with our families.  Justin Coulson writes beautifully in saying “the most important thing you can do for your kids is to love them.  And show that you love them by giving them your best

self, and your best time…”

Sounds easy?! Maybe we should all make this a goal for the next week or two as we drag ourselves through the cold, wet winter days.

Staffing News:  This week I reluctantly accepted Wendy Hill’s resignation after many years of long and dedicated service to the students and families of McAuley.  I hope that we will be able to formally thank and recognise Wendy’s contributions later in the year.

We are progressing on our Stage 6 Planning.  This week we will advertise the following positions for 2023:

Learning Support Teacher K - 11

English Teacher (Stage 6)

Secondary Teacher (Various Subjects)

Please reach out to family and friends who may be interested in joining our hard working and dynamic staff as we move boldly into the future of education.  Details can be found on Seek and the Catholic Education Website.

Please don’t forget extra Pupil Free days this term:

Friday 5 August (Today)

Monday 12 September (Week 9)

These days have been approved by the Catholic Education Office to allow staff time for professional learning and preparation time.  Thank you all for your support in these challenging times.

Year 11 Conferences:  Over the last couple of days we have been meeting with our Year 10 students and families to discuss and plan their way forward in Senior Schooling.  The Conferences have really built the excitement and helped us realise the offerings that we are able to provide to support our boys and girls as they move to Year 11 and 12.  The expert input from Catholic Education staff has been invaluable and will now inform further planning and staffing as we move into the next stages of our Year 11 journey.

CSPA 2022 Parent Survey on Student Wellbeing and Learning:

For example, has COVID or your partnership with the school affected your child’s wellbeing and learning?

If you are a parent or carer with a child in a Catholic school, CSPA would love to hear from you.
