Shine conference for 2022.

Students from year 9/10 were invited to attend the Archdiocesan ‘Let Your Light Shine Conference’ on Friday 28 October at Merici College in Canberra. The day was fully funded by the Archdiocese to allow students from NSW country an opportunity to attend such a powerful day.

The day began with live music from hip hop artist, Augie. 

Archbishop Christopher Prowes then addressed the students, speaking about embracing their potential. After a dramatic role play, the director of Catholic Education, Mr Ross Fox, also spoke to the 500 students as future leaders of our communities, welcoming their enthusiastic energy and encouraging them in their life choices.

The program is designed to encourage students to be open to developing their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Through a variety of talks, drama, testimony and other practical workshops and experiences, students are presented with the gift of faith.

SHINE is also a great opportunity for young people across the Archdiocese to come together, be encouraged and learn from each other as well as build relationships outside of their school community.

It was a wonderful day that the students really enjoyed and look forward to the Shine Conference in 2023!!!
