ATHLETICS CARNIVAL - FUNDRAISER

On 12th May it is 'Do It For Dolly Day' to support the Dolly's Dream Foundation.

Dolly’s Dream was set up by Tick and Kate Everett in memory of their daughter Amy ‘Dolly’ Everett. Dolly loved horses, but she tragically took her own life aged just 14 after experiencing an extended period of bullying and cyberbullying. On Monday 24th April it would have been Dolly's 20th birthday.

Tick and Kate Everett founded Dolly’s Dream Foundation is to raise awareness to prevent bullying and to support children who have experienced or witnessed serious violence, bullying, cyberbullying or other safety and well-being risks.

In Term 2, Dolly's Dream and Tick and Kate Everett are the focus for our Integrating Focus around the Mercy Value of Justice.  A quote from the Everett's expresses their hope that raising awareness will have. 'It's important to remember ... that our tongues truly hold power...Let's teach our children and our society to use them for good. "

At our Athletics Carnival, on Friday 12th May there will be a cake stall with the proceeds going to the Do it for Dolly Foundation. This money will help make Dolly’s own dream of a kinder and safer world for Australia’s kids and communities a reality.

If you are able to donate cakes or slices etc for sale that would be greatly appreciated. Dolly's favourite colour was blue; however, cakes of all colours are welcome!

Students are asked to remember to pack some money, so they can purchase something yummy at the Carnival.

The McAuley Integrated Focus for Term 2 is "Truth, Integrity and Justice".
