The weekend involved, testing skills against the clock, fire fighting in different situations and in some cases there was live fire was involved. They tested their skills in map reading, communication, first aid and problem solving. There were multiple events over the three days with the longest being two hours.
The cadets competed against teams from all over NSW, including four teams from Sydney. They were excellent competitors and were praised by each event coordinators, for displaying good skills and team work and overall effort. They received one second place and two third places for the weekend. Thank you to Peter and Tracey Jones for all their time and effort they have put into our cadets.
A big thank you to the cadets, they were great ambassadors for the Rural Fire Service and McAuley Catholic College. They have given up a lot of their time to be involved in the cadets to become so competitive. We're grateful for their positive attitude and involvement in many of the community events including the Festival of the Falling Leaf Parade and the Anzac March. The cadets are fantastic role models within our community - well done!
