PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear McAuley Families,
During the week we held our Opening Mass for 2025 which was a wonderful opportunity for us to officially welcome the new academic year together. Families, friends and special guests were in attendance and we especially welcomed those families who have joined our community for the first time along with new staff who bring their gifts and talents to enrich our school.
As Pope Francis reminds us, hope is not merely optimism, but a virtue rooted in the deep conviction that life has meaning in all circumstances. In choosing McAuley, you have chosen to be part of a community that cherishes this hope and nurtures it in every one of our students. Our college community is a place where faith, knowledge, and friendship flourish together. To our new families, you will discover that our community has room for everyone, where each person's unique talents contribute to our shared growth. To our returning families, your continued trust and partnership in education fills us with gratitude.
We are commiteed to embracing this year with what Pope Francis calls "the courage of hope" – the determination to see beyond challenges, to lift each other up, and to recognise God's presence in our daily lives. In our classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds, may we be bearers of joy and witnesses to God's love. Together, we will write this new chapter in our school's story, supporting one another, celebrating our successes, and facing challenges with courage and faith.
Mary our mother, look after us.
