Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, has been elected as the 267th successor of St Peter.

Born in Chicago in 1955, Pope Leo holds dual US-Peruvian citizenship and is the first American to become Pope. He brings with him a wealth of experience from his years of missionary work in Peru and his leadership in the Vatican, with a strong focus on social justice and pastoral care.
