Inquisitive Minds Maths Day

McAuley students from Years 5 to 10 were fortunate to be involved in a “hands on” Maths Day last Thursday in the hall. The Inquisitive Minds Maths Team came from Sydney with a van full of equipment to run the day.

Students were engaged with maths activities and brain-teasers which demonstrated the value of approaching problems strategically. They learnt a range of problem solving strategies in interactive mini-lessons. They competed in Chocolate Challenges and Lolly Challenges to win prizes by selecting and applying appropriate problem solving strategies as they participated in a hands-on Maths Relay.
