On Wednesday 3rd of May Year 6 students from St Patrick's Gundagai and St Joseph's Adelong gathered with Year 6 students from McAuley to participate in a ‘Journey with Jesus’ Retreat Day.
Journey with Jesus is a faith and ministry experience that delves into core concepts of the Catholic Faith and is linked to the Year 6 Religious Education curriculum. The retreat, which is based around the proclamation of the Kerygma or basic Gospel message of love, salvation and forgiveness is designed to support the curriculum and then lead the students into opportunities for leading mission within their own school communities.
Year 11 attended the Fast5Netball Carnival in Wagga on Wednesday. A special thanks to Cybella Roddy (Yr 8) for helping make up the numbers.
They won all of their round games and narrowly lost the semifinal.
Congratulations to all students and a big thank you to Carmel Lemon for coaching the students. Bree McDonald for umpiring and parents for transporting the students.
Fast5Netball in Wagga on Wednesday. Fast5 Netball is not your typical netball. It's your way to play netball with the dial cranked right up. While there are some similarities to the traditional form, Fast5 is new, it’s dynamic and has the rules to match.
With six minute quarters, five players a side, rolling substitutes, the pace and speed of the game is fast and intense. There are Power Plays to double your score and shots worth one, two or three points, so it’s your choice to play safe or take risks for the big points. It’s also faster and (frankly) more exhausting than regular netball – perfect for social players and fitness fanatics! Fast5 Netball is social, it’s fun and it’s netball played in a brand new way!
This year the NRL Development Team offered
- Girls League Tag
- Mixed (boys and girls combined) Tackle Rugby League
Both the Girl's League Tag teams and Mixed Tackle teams were 7 a side. The Mortimer Shield has changed from a competition to a gala day. The winning teams no longer progress to Wagga Wagga to compete for the Mortimer Shield title, and the focus of the day is all about fun and participation.
